The Alligation Rule:
The rule says that “The ratio in which two ingredients; having
relative values a1 and a2; which are mixed to produce a
mixture (real/hypothetical) having relative value aav; is given
by:
Ensure to subtract in the order in which it is shown here.
Don’t change the order of subtraction; otherwise the final
answer of the question would not be correct.
Practice Time
1. In what proportion must rice at Rs.3.10 per kg be mixed
with rice at Rs.3.60 per kg, so that the mixture is worth
Rs.3.25 per kg?
