The EFDS Junior Games
For many years, Lions of MD105 have supported the English Federation of Disability Sports and this year was no exception. 35 Lions gave up their week-end and attended the National Finals at Warwick University.
The Lions supervised field and track events and performed duties ranging from car parking to serving over 500 lunches to hungry athletes and their families. Many world famous disabled athletes started off their careers competing in these games, but the
main emphasis is allowing the youngsters to participate in a range of events that increases their confidence and abilities.
Our Lions witnessed courage, determination and tenacity in these young people and it was a heart- warming experience for all.
Club members who turned out were from, Dursley, Hayling Island, Sandwell, Handsworth, Nuneaton, Fleetwood and Cleveleys, Birchwood,
Stafford, Coventry, Frome, Heywood, Tring, Braintree, Rochdale, Kirkham and Fylde, Blackburn, Darwin, Lytham St. Annes, Thornbury, Uttoxeter and Cannock.
