Centre plans workshop for 23 cities to improve
Smartcity proposals (Economic times)
In order to enable every state to be included in the Centre's Smartcity
project, the Urban Development Ministry has communicated the
'deficiencies' in the plan submitted by 23 cities across the country that failed
to make the cut.
The Ministry will soon organise a workshop to guide these 23 cities in
improving their Smart City plans so they can submit improved proposals
by April 15 this year.
The move comes against the backdrop of concerns being raised in some
political quarters.

Finance Secretary Ratan Watal gets 2 month

With the Budget-making process under way, government extended the term
of Finance Secretary Ratan Watal by two months till April 30.
Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extension in service
to Ratan P Watal, Finance Secretary and Secretary, Department of
Expenditure, Ministry of Finance for a period of two months up to April 30,
2016.
