OVERLAP CASE- (RL+RR) – (Mid number + 2)
FINDING RANK OF PERSON SITTING BETWEEN TWO PERSONS- If
rank of two different persons is given from different sides and a person is
sitting exactly in the middle of them then we have to find rank of exactly mid
person from both the sides.
STEP 1- Convert Rank of both persons from same side (Side from which
rank of exactly mid person is asked in Question)
STEP 2- Add the Rank of both (Converted Rank) then divide the sum by 2.

Q. In a class of 50 students, Mahesh’s rank is 32 from the left and Suresh’s rank
is 38 from the right. How many students are sitting in between Mahesh and Suresh?
th
(1) 19
(2) 20
(3) 18
(4) CND
(5) None of these
Answer:(3) 18
THIS IS OVERLAP CONDITION
IF (LEFT+RIGHT)>TOTAL THEN
BETWEEN =(LEFT+RIGHT)-(TOTAL+2)
SO,
IN BETWEEN = (32+38)-(50+2)= 18
