105-D Rozanna Toomer

Rozanna is working towards her A Levels and hopes to study Midwifery at University. She is a member of the Scout Association and enjoys camping, water sports, gliding and back wood skills. She is a Young Leader with Cub Scouts and working towards her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. Rozanna has been a
volunteer at ‘Down to Earth Committee Farm’ for 15 years, caring for different animals, fundraising, helping with Christmas holiday activities and groups with learning difficulties.
105-E Rina Roy

Rina is studying for her A Levels and hopes to study Law at University. She is a member of UK Youth Parliament, a member of Charnwood Youth Council and also of Leicestershire Youth Council. She has been instrumental in improving the facilities for disabled people at her local leisure centre. Rina has
also run an event called ‘Cardboard City’ raising money for the local people by sleeping rough and visiting the hostels for the homeless to increase awareness. An event called ‘Bridging the Years’ within the Leicestershire Youth Council brought together isolated/lonely elderly citizens and teenagers.

Maddie will study Politics with Literature at University after her A Levels. In acknowledgement of her community work, Wisbech Lions have made her an Honorary Lion. Maddie has achieved the Gold Award both in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and Lions Young Leaders in Service Award scheme. Last
summer she completed the National Citizenship Service Programme as Team Leader and has been selected as Mentor for this year’s participants. She is currently organising a fashion show for UNICEF and will complete the ‘3 Peaks Challenge’ this summer, fundraising for ‘Free the Children’.
105-I Jack Hickey

Jack’s hobbies include playing musical instruments, cycling and hill walking. He is
also a member of Carrick on Suir Musical Society, taking part in popular musicals. His main area of community involvement is with St Colman’s Youth Conference, St Vincent de Paul, of which I am
treasurer. The main activity of our conference is our work with the elderly. They host a monthly party, distribute Christmas presents, meals on wheels at Christmas and an annual Summer outing. He is also a volunteer instructor with Irish Water Safety. He enjoys volunteering and feels he has made lifelong friends. It also allows him to give something back to society. Jack is passionate about Irish culture.
105-M Jessica Browne

Jessica is a peer mentor at school, has developed a sensory garden in memory of lives lost in armed conflicts and made successful funding applications for community projects. She is chair of Castle Bromwich Youth Parish Council and has delivered workshops on Democratic Participation at the Sense
Parish Clerks and National Citizenship Conference along with contributing to articles in various Journals. Jessica is passionate about current affairs, public speaking and sport. She is a National Level trampolinist and gymnastic coach.

Amy has been a member of Sunderland High Leos Club for two years, organising McMillan Coffee Mornings, collecting tins of food to support the needy in the local community, helping to organise Christmas Parties for Senior Citizens and heading a project to supply 50 homeless people with a ‘Bag
for Life’. She is a ranger in the Girl Guiding Association, working towards the Young Leader’s qualification and Queens Guide Award. Amy has also helped Sunderland Lions Club with Santa’s Sleigh and the Boxing Day Dip.
105-SW Felicity Freeborn

Felicity has been involved in the Scouting movement for a long time and attends Explorers. She has also helped with Cubs and Beavers. Felicity has completed Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award and is now working towards Gold. She has helped to raise money for the Scouting movement.
Felicity was a member of the Student Council and organised talent shows, cake stalls etc. to raise money for Cancer Research and Water Aid along with smaller local charities. Her interests are varied, from rock climbing to playing in two jazz orchestras to reading.

Gurleen, born in India, moved to the UK with her
family aged 3. Her community involvement is
extensive. From her School Council, she went on to Powys Youth Forum and is a Youth Ambassador for the Welsh Assembly, organising workshops for children and young
people. She is a volunteer at her local Youth Club organising activities. Gurleen is also a ‘Make Your Mark Champion’ for the UK Youth Parliament and a part of the Twinning Committee which is involved with young people from Bad Rapanau in Germany and Contrexeville in France. Her particular interest is to assist young people with emotional/mental health concerns to reach their potential.
