Club’s Under
Eighteen Team
In their 51st year of service to the community, Wetherby Lions Club has become the proud sponsor of Wetherby Athletic Football Club’s Under Eighteen Team. To mark the start of the season, the Club provided the team’s new strip, which features the distinctive Lions International logo, encircled with our Lions Club name and of course the Wetherby Athletic Junior Football Club logo.

Where Pride Meets Passion
The Windsor Lions, has established a “junior Lions” Club at The Windsor Boys’ School that promises to be an additional force in charitable work in Windsor, as well as a source of new Lion members for the future. The Windsor Boys’ School Leo Club, based at their school in Maidenhead Road, Windsor, is the second Club of its kind established by a Windsor Lions initiative. The Club will work in the community with charity work and fundraising through sport and charitable events, as well as working with Windsor Lions to serve those in Windsor and the surrounding area who need help and support.
Windsor Lion Mike Sells, whose drive and enthusiasm created the initiative commented: “I am delighted that we have established The Windsor Boys’ School Leo Club – it offers a great opportunity for the boys to get involved in the community helping others as well as supporting the work of Windsor Lions.”
The Leo Club is formally known in Lions International terminology as an
‘alpha club’, that is a junior Lions Club for members in the age range 12-18 years.
Mr James Clark, Director of Sport at The Windsor Boys’ School and Co- ordinator for the Leo Club, said: “It is a great step forward for the school to establish what is our first Leo Club and we really are looking forward to getting involved in the community and working with Windsor Lions. Our sincere congratulations to deputy
head boy Albert Karavis who was made the first President. We hope that this club will be a feature of the charity work the school does within Windsor. The new members are all very keen to get the Club underway with their first project which will be to set up a support system for the under privileged and homeless by supplying food etc. to be collected within the school and using the school premises as the storage and administration centre.”
