Brazilian Percussionist Nana Vasconcelos Dies at Age 71
Acclaimed Brazilian percussionist Naná Vasconcelos has died at age 71.
The eight-time Grammy Award-winner worked over the decades with well-known musicians such as
Milton Nascimento.
Dominic Asquith is new UK envoy to India
Britain has appointed senior career diplomat Dominic Asquith as its new envoy to India, to succeed James
Bevan.
According to a UK High Commission statement, Asquith is currently a Senior Adviser with Dentons, a
multinational law firm and one of the world’s largest law firms in terms of number of lawyers.
Sri Lankan Parliament approves Constitution making

Sri Lankan Parliament has unanimously approved a resolution for setting up a Constitutional Assembly to
formulate a new Constitution for the country.
The assembly will consist of all members of parliament, for the purpose of deliberating, and seeking
views and advice of the people on the new Constitution.
The assembly will also be preparing a draft of a Constitution Bill for the consideration of parliament.
