CBI seeks statutory powers under PMLA –
The Central Bureau of Investigation has sought statutory powers under the
Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) to conduct probe into proceeds
of crime, attach tainted properties and prosecute accused persons.
PMLA - The Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 forms the core of
the legal framework put in place by India to combat money laundering. PMLA
and the Rules notified there under came into force with effect from July 1,
2005.
India, Australia seal nuclear deal procedures –
India announced on Sunday that the procedures for a civil nuclear agreement
with Australia for supply of uranium from it had been completed
India will be the first country to buy Australian uranium without being a
signatory to the NPT.
NPT is a landmark international treaty whose objective is to prevent the
spread of nuclear weapons and weapons technology, to promote cooperation
in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and to further the goal of achieving
nuclear disarmament and general and complete disarmament.
Rosberg wins Brazilian GP in style –
