Malayalam language and literature lost one of its most respected contemporary
voices with the death of poet O.N.V. Kurup.

Billionaire Anil Agarwal will invest $10 billion or Rs. 68,000 crore to set up India’s
first and one of world’s largest liquid crystal display (LCD) panel manufacturing
units, known as Panel FAB, in Maharashtra.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed with the Government of
Maharashtra on the sidelines of the ‘Make in India’ Week in Mumbai.
Panel FAB is expected to begin production by 2018 with the plant reaching full
capacity in the next 10 years.
Sweden’s Saab, Kalyani in JV to make air
defence systems
Saab Group, a Swedish aerospace and defence company, is set to ink a pact with
Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd (KSSL), to jointly manufacture air defence systems.
The joint venture between Saab and KSSL, the defence arm of the Kalyani Group,
will make and deliver air defence systems to the Indian customers.
