EPFO to invest in AA+-rated private bank bonds
Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), the country’s
largest retirement fund, has decided to begin investments in bonds
rated AA+ or higher issued by private sector banks.
At least two credit rating agencies should have given such a rating.
The EPFO first initiated investments in private sector bonds in 2006
and gradually relaxed norms to allow investments in blue-chip highly
rated corporates such as Reliance Industries, L&T, TCS and Infosys.

Free Basics platform, previously Internet.org, will now be available
across India on Reliance Communications network.
Free Basics initiative, which has about one million users in India, aims
to bring internet services to areas that are still not connected in
partnership with technology companies such as Samsung and
Qualcomm.
However, it has been widely criticised for violating Net Neutrality
principles.
Internet.org is live in more than 24 countries with 15 million users.
