The Fourth Generation is one of the generations that majority of us
would have witnessed. The fourth generation can be termed as the
base for today’s digital systems. This gen used the integration of
thousands of ICs, very well known as Microprocessors.
A microprocessor is a small scale Printed Circuit Board(PCB)
containing ‘n’ numbers of ICs and digital logics. Microprocessors
were designed to reduce the size with great efficiency and
performance. The Intel 4004 chip, developed in 1971, located all the
components of the computer from the central processing unit and
memory to input/output controls on a single chip.
